Colorado Beans and Agriculture

Beans are critical to agriculture and food systems worldwide, and that is certainly true in Colorado! To celebrate Colorado beans, my friend and fellow PhD student, Tymofiy Lutsiv, and I had a bean table at Colorado State University (CSU) Ag Day. I wrote about that more here, on the Colorado Dry Beans website (a non-profit in my state that promotes bean growers and processors).

Check out the 1-minute video about CSU Ag Day here!

What do you think of when you hear the word “bean”?

Beans have so much to offer for human and environmental health, and they are a part of many delicious dishes! We asked people to chime in with what they think of when they hear the word “bean”. Does anything here surprise you? Or would you like to add anything? Let me know in the comments! πŸ™‚

Can you name these types of Colorado beans?

See if you can name them all! (And yes, technically the one on the far left is a pulse and not a bean.)

And of course, mandatory photo of an adorable kid interested in beans!
